Save Elephant Hill has collaborated with biologist Natasha Khanna-Dang to develop a series of public nature walks on Elephant Hill in 2026. With technical support from the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, Natasha also helped us develop a full-color, illustrated Nature Guide for the Elephant Hill area that is available in both English and Spanish versions.
Intended as an educational tool to encourage El Sereno residents and all Angelenos to engage with nature in the city, the Nature Guide identifies 29 native birds, mammals, reptiles, invertebrates, as well as native plants and trees common on Elephant Hill,
The walks and Nature Guide will cover the social andecological history of Elephant Hill as well as opportunities and threats facing this unique natural resource.
